How much does a counselling session cost?
A 50-minute individual counselling session is $140 CDN. A 50-minute couples counselling session is also $140 CDN.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
No, I only offer virtual sessions, either by phone or video.
How do virtual sessions work?
You will get a video link 30 minutes prior to the session. You click on that link and it takes you to the video without having to sign-in or remember a password. I will join the video at the appointment time. Alternatively, some people choose a phone call instead of a video session. In that case, I would call you at the appointment time.
What is the benefit of online counselling?
Online counselling offers flexibility, letting you fit sessions around work, childcare, or a busy schedule without commuting. It can feel more comfortable to open up from your own space, especially when discussing sensitive topics. Online counselling also increasing your options and access to effective counselling: you're not limited to counsellors within driving distance, so you can find the right fit for your needs. Sessions are just as effective as in-person counselling for most concerns, and this is supported by a growing body of research. Many clients also find it easier to keep up with sessions consistently, since scheduling barriers are lower.
Are counselling sessions covered by extended health benefits?
Often, yes. Specifically, check if your extended health benefits cover RCCs or Registered Clinical Counsellors. If so, you can submit your counselling receipts to them and get reimbursed.
Do you offer direct billing to extended insurance?
No, clients pay for their counselling sessions directly, either through credit card or e-transfer, and then submit their receipts to their insurance.
